Tip from the Page Editors: If more than one Expert helps you, split the points. To do this, scroll down to the bottom of the question and click the "Split Points" link at the bottom of the page. Select the radio button of the comment who you want to Accept as the answer. Only one button can be selected. Set the point value (a text box above the comment) of how much you want this person to receive of the points. Then set the point values for each of the experts comments to whom you want to allocate points and these will be considered Assisted answers in helping you resolve the issue. Double check your information and then click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. One note: the total points of the splits must equal the amount you asked the question for itself, and no person can receive fewer than 20 points.
One of the least-known new features at Experts Exchange is our new Link Exchange. Our Link Exchange program is beneficial to both sites in a couple ways:
  1. The number of resources available to users on both sites will increase
  2. Site relevance is increased within all major search engines when a site provides links to and from quality resources
If you would like to swap links with EE, just fill out the form at the Link Exchange page.
Nata's Corner: Not home for the holidays

woman in specticals I'm planning on taking a few excursions over the next month or so, but keeping in touch with Experts Exchange won't be a problem with a laptop with both a wireless card and a modem. Or at least, it shouldn't be if I can find a few hot spots along the way. c|net has a quickie course in finding them that will be available Dec. 2.

One place I won't be is Washington, DC. An article in Federal Computer Week found hot spots all over, including one at the Pentagon. The magazine's investigators also found open hot spots at some contractors who work for the National Security Council and the Internal Revenue Service.

Sophos has reported that the Sober-I worm, discovered last week, is accounting for over half the new virus reports to the site. Like most, it's sent from an infected computer using the address book of an infected computer. Another worm -- W32/Yanz-A -- uses the lure of an MP3 from an Asian pop star.

Latest phishing expeditions: TCF Bank, e-gold.com, Washington Mutual Bank and PayPal. Just don't do it.

Tip for New Members: Where do I ask my question?

First things first: make sure you're in the right Topic Area. The Community Support topic area and its subtopics are not the place to ask about your ailing laptop or your Visual Basic programming errors.

Click on the link to the All Topics page, and then find the one that best fits your question. Once you've arrived there, find the link that says "Ask a Question".

Your question will not be visible to you in the list of Open Questions; it will be listed separately -- to you -- in a list at the top of the topic area page under a heading of Your Questions. But rest assured, it will be visible to all of the other Members.
