1. CEO Joins EE Team!
Experts Exchange is pleased to announce its latest addition to the
team, Chief Executive Officer, Keith McCurdy. For the last 10 years,
Keith worked at Electronic Arts and most recently was VP of Product
Development and CTO of Online. Keith brings a wealth of online
community experience to EE, as executive in charge of the incredibly
successful Ultima Online. "My first priority as CEO is to maximize the
full potential of the company as we prepare for the next major growth
stage of Experts Exchange," said McCurdy. For more information about
Keith McCurdy, go to http://www.experts-exchange.com/info/whoswho.htm
and please join us in a warm welcome to Keith.
2. Top 100 Experts Get Free Gifts!
Did you know that the Top 100 Experts are a part of a very elite group
of experts on the Internet? They are what Experts Exchange is calling
RealExperts TM. In fact, the top 100 RealExperts, together as a group,
answered thousands of questions, made hundreds of thousands
of postings, and earned millions of expert points! They have proven
their ability to quickly solve difficult technology problems. To
recognize their great contributions to the Experts Exchange Community,
we are giving them a free gift, either a HandSpring Visor PDA (with the
Palm OS) or an award winning Hewlett Packard 4200Cse color scanner!
Watch for the promotion this month. Enjoy!
3. Experts Shine as Beta Testers!
The EE staff sends a special thanks to the beta testers group for
making our recent release a huge success! A group of volunteer experts
and our engineering team assured the smooth implementation of several
new elements and features, such as reducing graphical overhead and
further improvements on speed and readability. Some of the new
features address the following issues: questions abandoned by askers,
accidental postings of answers by experts, and the deletion of
questions which have received comments and expert feedback. When you
notice the change, be sure to email our webmaster and share your
thoughts.
4. Everyone is an Expert!
Experts Exchange would like to know in what
non-computer and non-technical subjects you are an expert. List your
hobbies, collections, careers, degrees, interests, or any potential
topics in which you have significant knowledge. Post your comments in
the Suggestions topic area, or follow this link:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Customer_Service/Suggestions/Q_10292631.html.
Any suggestions from stamp collectors to cars will be helpful.
5. EE's Y2K Reporting Center.
February brings another leap year and invites the question: Will the
Y2K fixes that delivered a quiet New Year's Eve consider the
extra day in February? Do you want to read an intelligent discussion
on Y2K spending or media hype? For the latest Y2K updates in the
industry, visit our special topic area at
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Computers/Y2K/reports/ and report
any Y2K related issues (serious or silly). By listing bugs and
nuances in one place, members rely on IT professionals to provide
information and determine for themselves what issues are interesting,
without unnecessary media hype.
